Migration Plan
Cross-org References
Cross-org References
On Decide destinations, the plan lists projects whose repositories reference repositories headed to a different org. A link is one project's direct references to repositories landing in one other org, counted against the project's default org. The biggest links are listed first.
A reference counts only when both ends have a destination and those destinations differ. References to a shared hub — a repository more than 40 others reference directly — are left out of the link and of the project's total. Changing one project's org does not flag a project that already lands in that org.
Opening the page
You need the Migration Assistant manage permission. The Migration Plan is available on CodeCargo plans that include it. If you do not see it, contact your CodeCargo administrator.
A link needs a look when it has 20 or more references, or at least 5 that make up 5% of the project's references. A link you have kept on purpose does not. Decide destinations is not held up by links that still need a look: that item is optional, and it is met once every such project is fixed or kept on purpose.
The Repositories table can filter to repositories that reference another org, using the same count.
Resolve a Link
For each link that still needs a look, choose one of:
- Send these — pin this project's repositories that hold the references to the other org.
- Bring those — pin the repositories they reference to this project's default org. Offered only when the project has a default org and at least one repository at the other end belongs to another project.
- Keep the split — record that the two ends should stay in different orgs. Undo that decision before you send or bring them.
A repository that would already land in the target org, by a rule or its project, does not get its own destination. Its own choice is cleared instead, and its wave stays as it is.
Sending or bringing moves at most 25 repositories at once. For more than that, use a rule. If every repository at the other end is this project's own, change their destination instead of bringing them.
If the plan changed since the links were listed, or a scan or inventory refresh changed what the link holds, the move does not apply. List the links again and try the move with the link as it is now.
